Gold Jacket defensive end Joe Greene was honored by the Pittsburgh Steelers during Week 9 when the franchise retired his number 75. He joins fellow Hall of Famer Ernie Stautner as the only two players in club history to receive such an honor.

Greene, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 1987, was overwhelmed by the recognition. “Who would have thought this in 1969?” commented Greene, “It’s beyond my imagination to see this and to be a part of. It’s so very very special.”
