HOF Gets Amped for Watt Donation

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt has had a season for the ages so far. Watt has been making plays all over the field…literally. He has heavily contributed on both the defensive and offensive side of the ball. The Pro Football Hall of Fame recently received two pairs of gloves from his memorable season.

In week 11, the star defensive lineman wore these gloves when he caught a 2-yard touchdown pass, recorded a strip sack, made five tackles (three for a loss) and recovered a fumble against the Cleveland Browns on Nov. 16, 2014. He is the only NFL player to register a sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a touchdown reception in the same game since sacks became an official statistic in 1982.

Two weeks later, Watt wore these gloves against the Tennessee Titans when he had two sacks, a forced a fumble, a recovered a fumble and recorded his third touchdown reception of the season. Watt is the only NFL player to register a sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a touchdown reception in the same game since sacks became an official statistic in 1982. He also became the first player in NFL history to have at least 10 sacks and three or more touchdowns in a season and the first player since J.C. Caroline (1956) to score multiple TDs on offense and defense in the same season after recording 11.5 sacks and five touchdowns this year.
