Bettis’ day began when he was joined for breakfast by Hall of Fame President David Baker along with Canton Mayor William J. Healy, and Canton Deputy Mayor Fonda Williams.
The next stop on his site survey was the Canton Civic Center that will be the site for the Gold Jacket Dinner where Bettis will receive his Hall of Fame Gold Jacket. That event, which occurs on the eve of his enshrinement, is televised by NFL Network.
Bettis and family then arrived at the Hall of Fame where he was greeted by staff and who presented him with a birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday!
Bettis then toured the museum. During his visit, he was able to learn about the greats that played before him and relished in seeing the evolution of the game. He took a moment in the Hall of Fame Gallery to view the busts of Steelers founder and longtime owner Art Rooney (Class of 1964) and current Steelers Chairman Dan Rooney (Class of 2000).

The former Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers running back made a quick stop to greet a large gathering at the local Hall of Fame Luncheon Club that meets each Monday.
Bettis spent the afternoon meeting with Hall of Fame staff and concluded his day with some interviews with media.
