Gold Jacket Jim Kelly's Latest Scans Show No Evidence of Cancer
Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly showed no evidence of cancer in tests taken Wednesday in New York City, his wife, Jill, posted on Instagram.
Jill Kelly wrote that Jim got a "Double thumbs up! MRI and CTScans are clear. Still working through major pain management, but PRAISE THE LORD, no evidence of cancer."
Kelly’s last surgery came in mid-June, when he had five implants inserted into the new bone in his upper jaw. Permanent dentures are expected to be inserted in September.
Kelly was first diagnosed with cancer in 2013. He said in early March this year that he had squamous cell carcinoma in the upper right jaw that would require surgery. He underwent that procedure in late March.
A similar form of the disease was surgically removed from his upper left jaw at ECMC in 2015.
