Wednesday Games Rare Today, More Common in NFL's Early Years

When the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Baltimore Ravens this afternoon at Heinz Field, it will be the first Wednesday game in the National Football League since 2012 and only the second in the past 70 seasons.

But even with the games’ rarity, several special moments have occurred when NFL teams have clashed midweek.
