“The Mission” podcast continued the celebration of Women’s History Month by honoring the first female scout in National Football League history, Connie Nicholas Carberg.
HOF Productions showcased Carberg’s unique journey as a New York Jets administrative assistant to discovering the Jets’ all-time sack leader, Mark Gastineau.
She takes us inside the Jets’ draft room as she selected and submitted the first draft pick of her career in 1976. Carberg also shared humbling stories about overcoming adversity while breaking through the glass ceiling.
In this exclusive interview, Carberg is very forthright about how she never set out to be the first female scout. She is extremely passionate and loyal to her craft, and we learn just how much the New York Jets organization means to her.
