'The Mission:' Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2006's Warren Moon
Throughout the ’22 NFL season, the vision of "The Mission" podcast is to connect viewers and listeners with Hall of Famers, to help break down some of the league’s prime-time matchups, historical matchups and current news storylines, and to learn about the treasured life lessons the game of football has taught these gridiron warriors.
To help look ahead to Week 13 of the NFL schedule, joining "The Mission" this week is Houston Oilers Legend WARREN MOON, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2006.
In 1990, Moon led the National Football League with 4,689 passing yards. He also led the league in attempts (584), completions (362) and touchdowns (33), and he tied Pro Football Hall of Famer DAN MARINO'S record with nine 300-yard games in a season. The following season, he again led the NFL in several passing statistics in leading the Oilers to the second round of the playoffs.
Moon also played with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. Not only did he lead the Eskimos (now the Elks) to a record five consecutive Grey Cup victories, but Moon also won the MVP award twice and became the first CFL quarterback to pass for 5,000-plus yards in a season.
