What a rush! Henry’s cleats in Canton to mark two milestones
Henry got the scoring started in the Ravens 41-38 win with a 1-yard rushing touchdown with 8:54 remaining in the first quarter. This marked his 100th career scrimmage touchdown. The next quarter, Henry took his seventh rushing attempt of the game for seven yards, surpassing 10,000 career rushing yards.
The Baltimore running back joined Hall of Famers MARCUS ALLEN, JIM BROWN, MARSHALL FAULK, FRANCO HARRIS, CURTIS MARTIN, WALTER PAYTON, JOHN RIGGINS, BARRY SANDERS, EMMITT SMITH and LaDAINIAN TOMLINSON, as well as Frank Gore and Adrian Peterson as the only players in history to reach both career marks.
Henry signed with Baltimore as a free agent this offseason after playing in 119 games for the Tennessee Titans over eight seasons. Entering 2024, Henry totaled 9,502 rushing yards and 93 touchdowns from scrimmage, leading the league in rushing yards in 2019 (1,540) and 2020 (2,027).
Surpassing both marks in his 124th career game, Henry also became only the fifth player in NFL history with at least 10,000 rushing yards and 100 scrimmage touchdowns in his first 125 career games, joining Hall of Famers Jim Brown, Emmitt Smith and LaDainian Tomlinson, as well as Adrian Peterson. Through Week 5 of the 2024 season, Henry’s career totals show 10,074 rushing yards and 100 scrimmage touchdowns (96 rushing, four receiving).
In overtime, Henry’s 51-yard run set up the Ravens for a game-winning field goal propelling Baltimore over their division rivals the Cincinnati Bengals.
Now on display in the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s “Pro Football Today Gallery” are the cleats Henry wore when he surpassed 10,000 career rushing yards and 100 career scrimmage touchdowns.
