Vince Lombardi Trophy begins journey to Super Bowl LX
On Thursday, that annual trek – this year to Santa Clara, California, for Super Bowl LX – began.
Over those 17 years, numerous members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame have taken part in a “white glove moment” – and on occasion black gloves – either removing the trophy or placing a new trophy on display in the “Lamar Hunt Super Bowl Gallery.”
This past June, RON WOLF placed the new trophy on display.

And this week, two-time Super Bowl champion CLIFF HARRIS joined the list of Hall of Famers to take part in these special moments. He assisted the Hall’s Curatorial Team in kicking off the trophy’s journey to Levi’s Stadium, its landing spot until its presentation to the winner of Super Bowl LX.
Harris played in five Super Bowls (V, VI, X, XII, XIII) and won two: Super Bowl VI (Dallas over Miami) and Super Bowl XII (Dallas over Denver) as a free safety with the Cowboys.
The trophy was named for the late VINCE LOMBARDI, shortly after his death before Super Bowl V. It is a regulation-size sterling silver football mounted in a kicking position on a pyramid-like stand of three concave sides. It measures 20.75 inches tall and weighs 107.3 ounces (approximately 6.7 pounds).
Tiffany & Co. has made a new trophy each year since Super Bowl I. Until the trophy for Super Bowl LXI arrives in Canton next year, a replica will be stationed in the “Lamar Hunt Super Bowl Gallery” for guests to view.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame currently is operating under its winter hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, seven days a week. Plan your visit here.
