Each week, the National Football League releases statistical highlights from the weekly games played during the 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. ET windows on Sunday. Each week the Pro Football Hall of Fame will look at some of these highlights and how they relate to members of the Hall and the history of football.

  • The Chicago Bears recorded six rushing touchdowns in their Week 1 contest, tying the 1920 Detroit Heralds, 1920 Rock Island Independents and 1922 Canton Bulldogs for the most rushing touchdowns in an NFL season-opening game.

  • The Ravens’ Derrick Henry rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts. He now has scored 125 rushing touchdowns, passing Hall of Famer MARCUS ALLEN (123) for third-most in NFL History, trailing only Hall of Famers EMMITT SMITH (164) and LaDAINIAN TOMLINSON (145).

  • Detroit running back Jahmyr Gibbs had two rushing touchdowns Sunday, giving him 51 scrimmage touchdowns in 50 career games. This makes him the fifth player in NFL history with at least 50 scrimmage touchdowns in his first 50 games, joining Chuck Foreman (55), Hall of Famer JIM BROWN (53), Larry Johnson (52) and Hall of Famer MARCUS ALLEN (51).

  • With Josh Allen’s two passing and two rushing touchdown performance on Sunday, he now has 25 games with at least four combined passing and/or rushing touchdowns. He joins five other players in NFL history who have hit that mark in 25 or more career games: Tom Brady (47 games), DREW BREES (42), Aaron Rodgers (40), PEYTON MANNING (36) and BRETT FAVRE (25).

  • Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson became the third-fastest player to reach 8,500 career receiving yards (95 games) after his 92-yard performance against the Packers. He trails only Hall of Famer LANCE ALWORTH and Julio Jones, who both accomplished the feat in 90 games.

  • Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt recorded two sack and returned an interception for a touchdown during the Steelers’ victory over the Falcons. Watt, whose stats now include 117 sacks and 10 interceptions, joins Hall of Famer JULIUS PEPPERS (159.5 sacks, 11 interceptions) as the only players in NFL history with at least 100 sacks* and 10 interceptions.

  • Cardinals tight end Trey McBride recorded nine receptions during his team’s Week 1 win over the Chargers. This was his 38th game with at least five receptions, tying him with Hall of Famers KELLEN WINSLOW and ANTONIO GATES for second-most such games by a tight end in his first five seasons, trailing only Jimmy Graham (46).

  • New York Jets rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq recorded his first NFL touchdown with a 3-yard rush against the Titans. Hall of Famer OZZIE NEWSOME is the only other NFL tight end to score a touchdown on the ground in his NFL debut – a 33-yard run against the 49ers in 1978.

  • Justin Herbert reached 25,000 career passing yards in his 96th game. This feat surpassed PEYTON MANNING, KURT WARNER and Jared Goff, who all accomplished the mark in 97 games. Only Patrick Mahomes (83 games), Matthew Stafford (90) and DAN MARINO (92) accomplished the feat quicker.
