The San Francisco 49ers selected Stanford QB John Brodie in the first round (3rd overall) of the 1957 NFL Draft.
Brodie would go on to play 17 seasons in the National Football League, all with the 49ers.
Statistically, Brodie's best season came in 1965 when he threw for 3,112 yards and 30 TDs.
Brodie was elected to play in two Pro Bowls during his career (1965, 1970).
Brodie concluded his career with 31,548 passing yards, 214 touchdowns and a passer rating of 72.3.
Brodie is currently second in the 49ers record books for pass attempts, completions, and yards behind Hall of Famer Joe Montana. He is also third in career touchdown passes behind Montana and Steve Young.
