Joe DeLamielleure is walking to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Golden Anniversary Reunion. His Pounding the Pavement for Prosthetics Walk from Buffalo to Canton is to raise awareness and support for the GRACE’S LAMP organization that deals with young children who grow out of their prosthetic legs but cannot afford the high cost of new adult prosthetic legs. Good morning Ohio. I’m on my way this morning. It’s going to be a hot one but I’m ready for it.
I want to thank everyone out there for the continued support. My friends at the Hall of Fame tell me that they’ve fielded some calls from people wanting to know exactly where my route is going today.
Well, I’ll be walking down a rural road for most of the day. It’s called Mechanicsville Road about a mile west of Route 45. I’m headed toward Windsor, Ohio. If you’re coming out to show support along the route, I wanted to let you know my buddy Eljay, who’s in a lead vehicle and charted my route, does give me a break every once in a while! At some of my breaks I’ll jump in the car with him and we’ll go find something to eat since were kind out there in the country today. But, not to worry, I’ll be trekking down the road most of the day and be on Mechanicville Road for about 18 miles which should take me into late afternoon.
Again, thanks for following along. And, if you can spare a few bucks, please consider donating to Grace’s Lamp.
