Helping to fulfill its mission to promote the values taught through playing the game of football, the Pro Football Hall of Fame opened an exhibit titled, simply, “Character.”In the 1960s, two successful professional football leagues battled to co-exist: the established National Football League and the upstart and much younger American Football League.

These leagues could have continued to fight for players, fans and even cities, but in 1966, for the betterment of the game and its INTEGRITY, their respective owners decided to merge.

The result: an ultra-successful NFL.
