Green Bay Packers rookie Randall Cobb tied an NFL record for the longest kickoff return during a Week 1 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 8, 2011. The jersey he wore in the game has been sent to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Cobb retrieved a kickoff deep in his own end zone during the third quarter of the 2011 season opener and raced 108 yards for a touchdown that put Green Bay out in front 35-20. The kickoff return matched the distance covered by Ellis Hobbs on a return for the New England Patriots in 2007.
"It was amazing. The feeling of being in Lambeau Field and just having all of the guys around me coming off of the Super Bowl and just trying to do anything I can to contribute, and I certainly tried to make the most of my opportunities tonight." Cobb shared after his NFL debut.
Cobb's return was also Green Bay's first kickoff return for a touchdown in 11 seasons.
