What Duvernay-Tardif Has Learned on COVID Frontline

Last November, the medical scrubs and lab coat of former Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif were placed on display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Few items received at the Hall over the 2020 season have received the level of interest as Duvernay-Tardif’s new “work uniform” that represents what he wears in his daily efforts to help patients in his native Quebec dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Duvernay-Tardif made headlines last year when he opted to forgo the 2020 National Football League season and instead put his medical training to work as the coronavirus began spiraling out of control across the globe.

This week, the CBC caught up with Dr. Duvernay-Tardif to ask what he has learned from his experience on the frontline of a broad medical relief effort and whether he regrets his decision to walk away from the 2020 NFL season.
