Since 2009, the Pro Football Hall of Fame has featured the Vince Lombardi Trophy inside the “Lamar Hunt Super Bowl Gallery.”
Various Hall of Famers have taken part in placing the trophy back into the gallery after the Super Bowl. However, this year DAVE ROBINSON, Class of 2013, played a role in delivering the trophy to Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII. He assisted the Hall of Fame’s Curatorial Team in packaging the Vince Lombardi Trophy for this year’s game at Allegiant Stadium.
Robinson started at linebacker in the first two Super Bowls — following the 1967 and 1968 seasons — for the Green Bay Packers.
Although a new Vince Lombardi Trophy is created each year, until 2009 it was kept under wraps until shortly before the Super Bowl.
The trophy was named for the late VINCE LOMBARDI before Super Bowl V. The trophy is a regulation-size sterling silver football mounted in a kicking position on a pyramid-like stand of three concave sides. It measures 20.75 inches tall and weighs 107.3 ounces (approximately 6.7 pounds).
