Lewis rushes for 295 yards!

Jamal Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens predicted he would have a career day against the Cleveland Browns on September 14, 2003. The fourth year running back from Tennessee did just that as he established a new single game rushing record.  He nearly became the first ever NFL runner to reach the 300-yard plateau.

His record day came just three seasons after Corey Dillon of the Cincinnati Bengals established the new record.  Walter Payton had held the record for 23 seasons before his mark was eclipsed by Dillon.

Artifacts from Jamal Lewis's record day will be sent to Canton and placed on display.

Corey Dillon's jersey from his 278-yard effort in 2000 is on exhibit at the Hall.  His complete uniform from that day is also in the Hall of Fame's collection.

Here's the chronology of record holders beginning with Hall of Famer Cliff Battles, who was the first player in NFL history to rush for 200 yards in a game.
