Extra Points from NFL Week 6 games
By: NFL Communications
Each week, the National Football League releases statistical highlights from Sunday’s games played during the 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. ET windows. The Pro Football Hall of Fame will look at some of these highlights and how they relate to members of the Hall and the history of football. From Week 6:
- The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday to move their record to 5-0 to start the season. This is the sixth time head coach Andy Reid has accomplished this feat as a head coach, making him only the third coach all-time to do this, joining Hall of Fame coaches GEORGE HALAS (10 seasons) and PAUL BROWN (six).
- Steelers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers recorded his 255th career game with a touchdown pass. He surpassed Hall of Famer PEYTON MANNING (254 games) for fourth-most games with a touchdown pass (including postseason) in NFL history, trailing only Tom Brady (333) and Hall of Famers BRETT FAVRE (271) and DREW BREES (268).
- The defensive side of the ball shined this Sunday. Steelers’ defensive back Jalen Ramsey became the first defensive back since 2000 to record at least 10 tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks in a single game. Kyler Gordon of the Chicago Bears also hit a mark that hasn’t been seen since the year 2000. He was the first defensive back since that year to record three sacks and two forced fumbles in the same game.
- Chiefs’ running back Kenneth Walker scored two touchdowns in the team’s victory over the Chargers. Walker hit this mark for the fourth time, making him the third player ever to do so in his team’s first five games, joining Emerson Boozer (1967, New York Jets) and Hall of Famer CALVIN JOHNSON (2011, Detroit Lions) as the only players to do so.
- Travis Hunter, the Jaguars do-it-all playmaker, had a seven-yard touchdown reception and an interception in his team’s game against the Texans. He is the third player since 1970 to record a touchdown reception and an interception in the same game, joining Hall of Famer BRIAN DAWKINS (2002, Philadelphia Eagles) and Roy Green (1981, St. Louis Caridnals).
- New Orleans Saints’ running back Alvin Kamara became the sixth player all-time with at least 5,000 career rushing yards and 5,000 career receiving yards after his performance. He joins Tiki Barber, Christian McCaffrey and Hall of Famers MARCUS ALLEN, MARSHALL FAULK and LENNY MOORE as the only players to hit this mark.
- Derrick Henry, the running back for the Baltimore Ravens, became the fourth running back all-time to record 4,000 total rushing yards with multiple teams. He joins Warrick Dunn (Atlanta, Tampa Bay) as well as Hall of Famers ERIC DICKERSON (Indianapolis, Los Angeles) and MARSHALL FAULK (Indianapolis, St. Louis) as the only players to do this in NFL History.
- Baltimore Ravens’ defensive lineman Calais Campbell recorded his first sack of the season. With this sack, he became the second player since 1982 (when the sack became an official statistic) to record a sack in 18 different NFL seasons, joining Hall of Famer BRUCE SMITH (19 seasons).
